Raymond James Welcomes $950M Team from Ameriprise in Colorado

A $950 million 10-advisor team from Colorado is joining Raymond James from Ameriprise.

Springs Wealth Group, which is led by managing partners Bob Book, Andrew Inman, Tim Mason, Chris Van Stavern and Chris Young, will join Raymond James’ independent advisor channel. According to Young, the team chose Raymond James because of its culture fit.

“Making a transition isn’t something we take lightly,” Inman said. “That being said, we are extremely excited for the enhanced experience that partnering with Raymond James will provide for both our clients and the entire team at Springs Wealth Group.”

The firm has offices throughout Texas and in Colorado Springs, Colo. In addition to the five managing partners, the firm includes financial advisors Kristen Christensen, Travis Crowell, Bryan Ladrow, Camden Steele and Jerrard Bridgmon and 13 other staff members. The team offers comprehensive financial services for business owners, families and those nearing (or in) retirement.

According to FINRA records, Inman joined the industry at Edward Jones in 2009, with a seven-year stint at Investment Professionals before joining Ameriprise in 2018 (Young and Van Stavern also joined Ameriprise from Investment Professionals). Book and Mason joined Ameriprise in 2022 from Securian Financial Services, according to FINRA.

Last month, St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Raymond James began offering minority equity financing to some advisors as part of its Practice Capital Solutions program, leveraging the firm’s investment banking arm. As part of the program, advisors could exchange a minority stake for capital to fund areas including hiring, succession planning or M&A.

In recent months, the firm has made several senior hires and promotions, including Ronice Barlow, a former Franklin Templeton senior vice president who came on board as chief operating officer for Raymond James’ independent contractor division.

In February, the firm promoted Stuart Feld to the newly created post of chief artificial intelligence officer, becoming the latest financial services firm to add an AI expert to its C-suite. Feld will act as Raymond James’ AI architect and oversee the firm’s tech development and AI deployment for both advisors and clients.

“Our philosophy is to augment, not replace, the human touch by reducing administrative workload and empowering associates and advisors to better serve their clients,” Feld said in a statement about the promotion.
