Brian Funk Named President of MetLife Investment Management

Brian Funk

MetLife Investment Management named Global Head of Private Capital Brian Funk as president of the $616.9 billion asset manager. Funk has been interim president since the May 2 retirement of Jude Driscoll, who was promoted to president in September 2024.

Funk will be responsible for delivering investment performance and driving client growth, a responsibility which also includes overseeing the integration of MetLife’s acquisition of $100 billion AUM asset manager PineBridge Investments.

“I am honored to step into the role of MIM president and lead our team of 1,100 professionals at such an important moment in the firm’s growth trajectory,” Funk said in a statement. “I’m confident we have the scale, expertise and positioning in the market to continue to grow our leading global platform and expand our solution set to make us the partner of choice for institutional investors worldwide.”

Funk was previously the global head of public fixed-income credit research at MetLife. Prior to working at MetLife, he was the head of credit research at Logan Circle Partners LP, which had been founded by Driscoll and was acquired by MetLife in 2017, and served as the head of credit research at Delaware Investments.
