Focus Partners Wealth Merges in $5.6B California RIA

Bordeaux Wealth Advisors, a $5.6 billion AUM RIA in Menlo Park, Calif., has merged with Focus Partners Wealth, one of Focus Financial Partners’ hub firms, according to a LinkedIn post.

Bordeaux joined the Focus partnership in 2017 and represented the aggregator’s first deal since private equity firms KKR and Stone Point Capital acquired stakes in Focus. (Focus went public in 2018, and then private again in 2023, when it sold to Clayton, Dubilier and Rice, and Stone Point Capital.)

In January, Focus announced a new corporate brand and brand structure for its “hub” firms, giving those businesses the Focus name. The Colony Group and Buckingham Strategic Wealth became Focus Partners Wealth.
“While our name is changing, everything you value about BWA—our people, our values, and our knowledge to act as your personal CFO remains unchanged,” Bordeaux said in a LinkedIn post. “What’s new is the strength of expanded resources, enhanced capabilities, and a broader range of services.”

The Bordeaux team, led by managing partners Tom Myers and David Murdock, came out of Brownson, Rehmus & Foxworth, a Chicago-headquartered RIA. Bordeaux serves high-net-worth entrepreneurs, corporate executives, technology professionals and partners in the private equity and venture capital industries.
