Telegram introduces checklists and suggested posts, offering new tools for task management and monetization within channels, enhancing opportunities for creators and users on the platform.

Telegram has announced a series of updates aimed at enhancing user experience and monetization opportunities on its platform. The new features include checklists for task management and suggested posts for channel monetization, according to Telegram’s latest blog post.

Checklists for Task Management

The introduction of checklists allows users, particularly premium subscribers, to manage tasks directly within Telegram. This feature provides a collaborative tool for teams and individuals to track tasks efficiently. Users can create checklists in any chat, offering granular permissions to control task completion and list modifications. To create a checklist, users can simply access the attachment menu and select the ‘Checklist’ option.

Suggested Posts for Channel Monetization

Telegram’s new suggested posts feature enables subscribers to submit content to their preferred channels. This transparent and automated interface supports anything from fan art to promotional content. Suggested posts can be scheduled for specific times or left to the discretion of the channel owner. Initially, this functionality is exclusive to Telegram Premium subscribers.

Funding and Monetization

Telegram provides options to fund suggested posts through Telegram Stars or Toncoin, facilitating content creators’ monetization efforts. Users can add Toncoin to their accounts via Fragment, which supports larger purchases. Stars can also be purchased in bulk through Fragment or the PremiumBot for desktop users. The channel owner receives rewards 24 hours after posting, with automatic refunds if the post is removed earlier.

Safeguarding Transactions

Telegram’s monetization model via suggested posts allows channels of all sizes to crowdsource content and engage in affiliate marketing, all within the app. This approach safeguards creators from potential scams and maintains privacy. Telegram notes that while Stars purchases are subject to third-party refund policies, Toncoin transactions are non-refundable, offering a safer alternative for payments.

These updates mark a significant step in Telegram’s ongoing efforts to provide more tools and opportunities for users to manage tasks and monetize their content effectively.
