Australian Retirement Trust Chair Andrew Fraser, who has held the top role at the fund since October 2022, announced plans to retire in November.
Fraser was first appointed to Sunsuper as an independent director in September 2015 and served as chair of its investment committee before taking the role of Sunsuper chair in February 2018. Fraser then oversaw the 2022 merger with QSuper, which resulted in the creation of ART.
After almost a decade of service with the retirement funds, Fraser said in a statement that “now was the right time” to step down.
“It’s been an honor to serve our members,” Fraser said in a statement. “I am proud of everyone who contributed to the project to create ART and am honored to have played a role to establish ART. ART is, and will be, an enduring force for good—for our members, for the industry and the nation.”
