Summit Trail Advisors, a Dynasty-backed registered investment advisor with $23.6 billion in assets under management, has hired Jeff Ringdahl as its president and chief operating officer in New York, a newly created role.
Most recently, Ringdahl was running his own consulting firm, Acorn Advisory Group, for management teams and boards of asset and wealth management firms. Prior to that, he spent 14 years at Resolute Investment Managers, most recently as president and CEO.
In his new role, he’ll be responsible for enhancing Summit Trail’s client experience and family office products.

Summit Trail was formed in July 2015 by several former Barclays advisors (including Petersen) in the wake of Stifel’s purchase of Barclay’s U.S. wealth business. Many Barclays advisors, including the Summit Trail crew, opted to leave rather than join Stifel.
The firm has grown to $23.6 billion in AUM, $26.2 billion in assets under advisement, and more than 100 employees across 10 offices, with its headquarters in New York. It’s a member of Dynasty’s network of 57 independent firms (with over 500 advisors).
