
Mona Naqvi
The CFA Institute announced on Wednesday the appointment of Mona Naqvi as managing director of research, advocacy and standards.
Naqvi will be responsible for the strategic direction of the CFA Institute’s research, advocacy and standards efforts across the industry. Naqvi will report to Margaret Franklin, the CFA Institute’s president and CEO.
Her appointment is effective September 8. Naqvi will succeed Paul Andrews, who held the role between March 2021 and December 2024.
Naqvi will also oversee the CFA Institute Research and Policy Center, which is responsible for publishing research, shaping the institute’s policy and setting standards.

“We look forward to welcoming Mona to her new role at CFA Institute. She brings deep experience at the intersection of sustainable finance, capital markets, and public policy,” Franklin said in a statement. “Her blend of strategic insights, global perspective, and subject-matter expertise will guide our work as we continue to advocate for investors through better standards, investor-focused policies, and innovative, timely research.”
Naqvi was previously the head of sustainable capital markets and investment research at S&P Global Sustainable1. She was also a research director at the Al-Gore backed 2° Investing Initiative, served as a climate policy adviser to the administration of former President Barack Obama and was an economist at the Bank of England.
“I’ve long admired the role CFA Institute plays in advancing professionalism and trust in finance,” Naqvi said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to contributing to its important work at a time of extraordinary change for the industry and the evolving needs and interests of practitioners and investors.”
Naqvi earned a bachelor of science degree in government and economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
