  • Jordan Heller has joined Lightstone Capital as Director of Southeast Originations. In his new role, Jordan will help launch Lightstone’s satellite office in Miami, Florida and will lead the regional sourcing, structuring and originating senior bridge debt as well as mezzanine and preferred equity investments as part of Lightstone Capital’s broader growth strategy. Before joining the Lightstone Capital team, Jordan served as a Director at Sound Point Capital.
  • JLL added two new broker hires in the Tampa office, Bill Reeves as Managing Director and Doug Waechter as Senior Associate. Waechter will work closely with Reeves, who has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate. Waechter is a former professional baseball player and the voice of the Major League Baseball team, serving as a local Rays broadcaster for the past decade. With a career spanning two decades, Reeves has represented office tenants and corporate real estate users in over 700 transactions, totaling more than three million square feet. He spent the last ten years at Colliers International.
  • Edge House Miami, a 57-story home-sharing tower now under construction in the Edgewater neighborhood, is one of the first in the city to include a professional-grade, fully soundproofed podcast room as part of its amenity suite. Outfitted with pro-level recording gear and acoustic treatments, the space is tailored to today’s content creators, entrepreneurs, and remote professionals who are producing everything from branded podcasts to high-quality Zoom interviews—without ever leaving the building.
  • Blue Sky Communities and Community Assisted & Supported Living (CASL) completed an 84-unit affordable housing development located at 2267 NW 36th Street in Miami’s Allapattah neighborhood. The six-story, mid-rise community includes 42 units reserved for individuals who have experienced homelessness, along with supportive services and amenities to promote long-term stability. The $36 million development was made possible through a public-private partnership that included financial contributions from Miami-Dade County, Raymond James Affordable Housing Investments, EverBank, and the Florida Housing Finance Coalition.
  • Miami placed in the top 10 for 2024 self storage sales volume. Overall, 34 of the top 50 best-performing markets are located in the South, underscoring the region’s dominance in the sector.
