I will know and be able to comment on October 1, tomorrow.
Medicare guidance begins here, press here to get the forms that you must complete before I can peep a word about what I believe to be in your best interest.
Completely Unworkable
Some plans will not pay me one cent, but I will fulfill my fiduciary responsibility, and provide my objective guidance, paid or not. This is a completely untenable situation, because I still have to be regulated. It is far better to be paid $XXX (which I do not control), irrespective of plan. That way, you and I both know that I am recommending what I deem to be best-fitting for you. Now that I have revealed this fact, and you go to AcmeMedicareBroker (that is not me), you rightfully wonder if the most-fitting plan is not being shown to you at all. This is going to happen, you can mark my words, I will eat my hat if untrue. I am sure that is happening right now. There will be news articles about this, I will be asked about this. 100%.
This is obviously a balance that will not work over time. I never know, in advance, what plan or guidance is best for you. This has already been in place, but now, Medicare Advantage plans are paying $0 for certain plans, in certain locations. The industry (carriers/regulators) will need to adjust this, or I will discontinue offering any private Medicare guidance. There is no job or career where a person does volunteer work, and must simultaneously pay for the right to be regulated. Name one.

I am pretty sure that the word “blindsided” will hit especially hard in 2026. I added the ACA to the normal Medicare ABCs this year. The issue is that I will be speaking very quickly, in order to cover the ground required.
Walking the line between “the audience has a limited attention span” and “this is too vital to gloss over” is a difficult one.
Here’s a secret, I lose zero sleep over the Medicare or ACA outcome for our clients. I lose a lot of sleep over how to communicate what I know, into language that everyone can understand, from a wide variety of backgrounds. I realize that sometimes, it takes a couple of passes at it.
ACA Segment of the Webinar Recording
I wanted to test how long it would take, so I pressed “Record.” For paid subscribers, this is the impact on the possible government shutdown, and here is how I am helping our client base.
