Stephen Miran praised tariffs, immigration policy and deregulation on September 22 in his first public speech as a US Federal Reserve governor.  

Miran told his audience at the Economic Club of New York that he would continue to dissent from the majority on the Federal Open Markets Committee until his views had changed. 

Miran said “it should be clear” that his view of policy diverged from that of his colleagues. He saw rates as “very restrictive” and dangerous to the Fed’s employment goals, and
