New York People and Company News, Week of May 23, 2025


  • The Douglaston Companies, comprised of Douglaston Development, Levine Builders and Clinton Management, has established a governing board of directors. Benjamin Levine and Jessica Sherman have assumed new positions as principals and vice chairs of the board. Ambassador Randi Charno Levine and Dara Rose will also serve on the board, with independent advisors and industry experts to be added in the future. 
  • Prospect Ridge, a leading private equity real estate investment management firm, appointed Michael Mestel as managing director and co-head of the firm’s Credit Strategies platform. Mestel most recently served as managing director and co-head of H.I.G. Real Estate Credit, U.S., responsible for all aspects of credit investing nationwide.  
  • Lee & Associates NYC appointed Valeria Syanchuk as the new Director of Market Research. Syanchuk will lead the Market Research department. She brings specialized experience in the New York City commercial real estate market, having most recently served as Senior Research Analyst at Cushman & Wakefield. 
  • Resource Realty of Northern New Jersey (RRNNJ) founder and principal Tom Consiglio has been named a 2025 Icon in Business in New Jersey. This honor coincides with RRNNJ’s 35th anniversary year, celebrating the Bergen County resident’s leadership and enduring impact on the commercial real estate industry. 
  • NAI DiLeo-Bram & Co. has welcomed its newest associate, Sweemit Goswami, who is focusing on industrial property acquisitions, dispositions and leasing across Northern and Central New Jersey. Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student with a concentration in real estate and supply chain logistics, he previously served as an intern with the firm. 
  • Simone Development Companies was recently honored by Westchester Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) for the company’s medical office building at One Executive Boulevard in North Yonkers. The building won the Best of BOMA Signature Award in the category of Best Curb Appeal and Common Areas. The award was presented at BOMA’s Annual Hall of Honor Awards Dinner, held May 15 at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill in Tarrytown.  
  • Montville, NJ-based Diversified Properties, LLC has expanded its Property Management division, now offering a comprehensive suite of real estate services to third-party property owners. Diversified Properties’ expanded Property Management services are tailored to a broad range of asset types, including flex industrial, multifamily, office and retail  properties. 
  • VERO, a screening and leasing platform for owners and renters, completed a significant growth equity round co-led by Fifth Wall and Sunriver Capital Partners, with meaningful participation from Rebuild Capital. It follows VERO’s $9-million Series B, led by Fifth Wall, which closed in April 2023. 
  • Ladder Capital Corp, a leading commercial real estate finance REIT, has received an investment grade credit rating from Fitch Ratings, which assigned a Long-Term Issuer Default Rating of ‘BBB-’ with a Stable outlook to Ladder’s subsidiaries, Ladder Capital Finance Holdings LLLP and Ladder Capital Finance Corporation. Fitch also upgraded the senior unsecured debt ratings to ‘BBB-.’ Reportedly, Ladder is the only commercial mortgage REIT with an investment grade rating. 
  • Garnett Station Partners, a New York-based principal investment firm that manages more than $3.5 billion of assets, launched its commercial mechanical, electrical and plumbing services platform, Grizzly MEP. Industry veteran Kelly Romano will serve as chairman of the board.
