Thiel’s Indivisible Adds Women-Led Somerset Advisory

Indivisible Partners, the registered investment advisor led by former Merrill Lynch wealth head John Thiel, has acquired its third firm since launch with a fee-only, women-led advisory based in Birmingham, Alabama, according to regulatory filings.

Somerset Advisory will leave Hightower Advisors to join Thiel’s Clearwater, Fla.-based RIA launched in January, according to Indivisible’s Form ADV. The eight-person team is led by managing director, partner, and former Merrill wealth advisor Lauren Pearson. Neither firm responded to a request for comment on the deal.

Somerset launched in 2016 with Hightower, and provides financial planning, investment management, and financial coaching through a fee-only model, according to its website.

According to her LinkedIn page, Managing Director Pearson worked as a wealth management advisor at Merrill from 2007 to 2016. She also founded The Wealth Edit in 2020, a membership community for women to read and engage with content and events concerning finances.

Somerset is the second women-led team to join Indivisible. This May, the firm announced that Sandy Bolton, formerly head of wealth management solutions at Ameriprise, would join with her SanWealth Partners RIA, based in Hazlet, N.J.
