Wall Street has a fairly busy week to look forward to, with plenty of Federal Reserve speakers on the docket, a host of economic data, and some quarterly earnings.

The Fed finally cut interest rates after nearly nine months of inaction on monetary policy. Market participants will get a chance to hear more on the decision from a host of speakers this week, including Chair Jerome Powell, newly appointed Governor Stephen Miran, and Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman.

Turning to the economic calendar, on Thursday, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will release the third and final estimate of Q2 GDP growth. That will be followed by the August personal income and outlays release on Friday – a report that will also contain a reading on the core personal consumption expenditures price index, a measure widely seen as the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge.

Looking at earnings, memory chipmaker Micron Technology (MU) will highlight the names reporting this week.

Here are two of HDO’s latest strategies in action:

abrdn Healthcare Opportunities Fund (Free Write-up): Investing in healthcare is complex, with patents, tariffs, and supply chains shaping costs and opportunities. The abrdn Healthcare Opportunities Fund (THQ) simplifies access through a diversified, actively managed portfolio of 112 holdings focused on medical devices and equipment. Despite market volatility, THQ has delivered consistent monthly income since 2014, recently raising payouts to $0.18/share, yielding 12.7%. With 23% leverage and over $118 million in unrealized gains, it remains a reliable income vehicle. For retirees and income-focused investors, THQ embodies the “Income Method”- steady cash flow today and strong potential for long-term returns tomorrow.

abrdn Global Premier Property (Free Write-up): AWP offers investors a simple way to tap into global real estate opportunities without the burdens of direct property ownership. With an attractive 11.9% yield and diversified exposure across U.S. and international REITs, it is well-positioned to benefit from the next interest rate–cutting cycle and the global rebound in real estate values. For retirees and income-focused investors, AWP provides the best of both worlds: steady, reliable cash flow today and strong potential upside tomorrow. Instead of managing tenants or costly properties, you can sit back, collect passive income, and let your investments work for you.
