In a significant update for Xbox enthusiasts, the platform has unveiled a series of enhancements, including the introduction of Retro Classics to Xbox Game Pass, according to Xbox Wire. This initiative allows Game Pass members to access over 50 classic games from the 1980s and 1990s, such as Commando and Pitfall. This move underscores Xbox’s commitment to game preservation and backward compatibility, enabling players to experience nostalgic titles on modern hardware.

Retro Classics Now Available

The Retro Classics collection, developed in collaboration with Antstream Arcade, is now accessible to Xbox Game Pass members globally. This expansive library provides a seamless gaming experience across various platforms, including Xbox consoles, the Xbox app on PC, and supported devices with cloud gaming capabilities. Players can compete with friends or take on global challenges while enjoying the ability to save and reload progress, a new feature for many classic games.

PC Gaming Enhancements

Xbox has also introduced new features for PC gamers, including updates to the Game Bar with quick settings and visual improvements. The introduction of Microsoft Edge Game Assist promises an immersive in-game browsing experience, offering access to tips, walkthroughs, and popular sites like Discord and Spotify directly within games.

Furthermore, Xbox players now have the option to use GeForce Now for cloud gaming via the Xbox app on PC. This addition provides greater flexibility in choosing a preferred streaming platform for participating titles.

Xbox Rewards and Play Anywhere

With the latest update, Xbox Rewards now allow players to redeem gift cards in customizable amounts, enhancing the flexibility of reward redemption. Additionally, Xbox Play Anywhere continues to grow, with over 1,000 games now supporting this feature, enabling seamless gameplay across PC, Xbox consoles, and supported handhelds.

April saw the addition of numerous titles to the Xbox Play Anywhere collection, including Amaze! and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, further enriching the gaming experience for Xbox users.

The Retro Classics collection is set to expand, with additional titles from Activision and Blizzard expected to join the lineup, potentially exceeding 100 games in the near future.
