TD Bank to Close 38 Branches Nationwide — See Which New York Locations Are Affected

TD Bank is shutting down 38 branches across 10 states, with five closures in New York alone. Find out which NYC and tri-state area locations are impacted—and what new branches are opening in 2025.

In a major shift as part of its nationwide restructuring strategy, TD Bank has announced plans to close 38 branches across 10 states by June 5, 2025. Among them, five locations in New York—including two in Manhattan and one in Orange County—are set to shut their doors.

According to a bank spokesperson, the closures were driven by evolving consumer behavior and data points such as foot traffic, product usage, and community dynamics. While the move will impact select branches, TD Bank emphasized its continued commitment to customer service through its 1,100 remaining locations and digital banking platforms.

For customers in the Lower Hudson Valley, there’s some relief—no branches in that area are on the chopping block. However, residents of Manhattan, Orange County, and nearby New Jersey should take note, as six Garden State branches are also slated for closure.

Despite the downsizing, TD Bank is simultaneously expanding its footprint in key markets. In 2025, the bank will open three new branches in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Boston. The upcoming Boston location will follow a new “community store” model, offering standard banking services alongside financial wellness resources and community-hosted events designed to promote financial literacy.

As part of its public statement, the bank said:

“We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our impacted customers and colleagues and look forward to continuing to provide legendary service via one of our approximately 1,100 stores or any channel our customers choose.”

The full list of tri-state closures is expected to be released soon. Customers are encouraged to check their local branch status and explore nearby alternatives ahead of the June 2025 closure date.
